Interested in an exciting, high-tech way to use your talents?Video, Digital Photos, Web, Creative Writing, Acting, AV Tech... Read about our system for getting folks involved in running the tech support at Living Word. First, thanks for considering serving at Living Word. Don't worry, by showing interest, you won't be trapped into a weekly thing... we're much kinder to our team than that! In fact, Kids Cruise (Info HERE) is on a 7 week rotation. We don't like folks missing services too much or feeling burned out. People who want to join our Tech Team start with two training sessions during an actual KC service. The first session, you watch one of our tech work as they mentor you on how it all works. Toward the end of that training, you may be ready to 'take the wheel' and run the system. Your second training is where you actually start running the service tech, with the support of your mentor the entire time to remind you of everything. You arrive before the service (9 am) and help with setup. All of our set-up instructions are documented, so it's easy. Want to go further? From there, you can be trained of the tech of 'big' church (the adult service). Marilyn Richardson will give you a great start with that information. You'll be set then to consider joining us on the normal tech volunteer rotation and I'll check back with you after two months and see if the ministry seems like a good fit for you. We appreciate the help, but don't ever feel locked in if your leading on where you should serve or your life make you decide to stop. If Marilyn is ready to use you on the Big Church schedule, you can decide to do either Kids Cruise, Big Church or both. It's nice when people can help with both, because KC has so much tech stuff happening, it's pretty exciting. Of course, working Big Church is significant as your work helps hundreds of people get Pastor's message clearly. I also understand that some people feel a better fit one place or the other... so after a bit of being on both schedules (once again, the KC part is once every 7 weeks) you can decide where to serve. Got Skills? Want to Grow? There may also be special projects depending on your skill-set and interests. Anything you do, or would have an interest in learning? We (the Creative Ministry Team led by Paul Forget) do video shooting and editing, digital photography and digital 'slide shows', creative writing, the web site, etc... if any of that is an area of your skills or you'd like to learn about and grow in. In 'real life' members of our team are professional photographers, videographers, computer programmers, etc, so serving your church can also be a great way to explore your areas of interest and be mentored by professionals. Interested? Please e-mail Monty Wright for more info on what we do. |
